Prior to co-founding Piedmont Capital Investments, Robert was a partner at 36 North Capital, a merchant bank that he co-founded with Damian Gilbert in 2018. Robert sits on the boards of Sift Media, Tavros Therapeutics and Proficient Health. Robert was previously a co-founder of A2 Access LLC, a financial services technology firm that was acquired by Dealogic, a Carlyle Group portfolio company, in 2015. Prior to launching A2 Access in 2011, he was an analyst at Pelagic Capital – a long-short equities hedge fund within the Tiger Management organization. Robert began his career in 2006 as an analyst in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley. This group was structured as a dual platform that provided Robert with experience in both M&A advisory and principal investing on behalf of the various MS real estate funds. Robert is active in the community and sits on the boards of The First Tee of the Triangle and The Columbus Children’s Foundation, which is a nonprofit that utilizes cutting edge gene therapy/editing technologies to help children with ultra-rare diseases. Robert graduated with Honors from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2006, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
